ABOUT / BACKGROUND

David Brandstetter a former show skier and international competitor skied in shows around the world, including Sea World Australia, Cypress Gardens, Florida, shows in Germany, New Zealand, France, Mexico and more. A former competitor on The Budweiser World Tour, ranked in the top 10 in the world for 7 years and # 1 in Canada in Freestyle jumping for over 10 years. David is also the Chair and Chief Instructor of the Canadian Water Ski and Wakeboard Instructors course along with being on the Executive board of directors of Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario, and on the leadership committee of Water Ski Wakeboard Canada Quest for Gold 2010.

In 1989 David formed what is now know as WSE, a sports marketing and retail company. Starting with one ski school at Cleveland’s House, and adding 3 more including Paighton House (Red Leaves) and Deerhurst along with 5 retail stores. WSE was the largest ski school and retail chain of its kind in Canada.

WSE has been running a safe a successful ski school business for 17 years. Most of our company partners have been the same since the company’s inception. Our focus is to run a Waterski school like a serious business enterprise. Safety has always been our # 1 priority. Due to constant re-evaluation and constant training, our ski schools have had a near perfect safety record over 17 years.

Running a successful ski school the size of Deerhurst requires far more than a rate card and a fancy brochure. It requires a deep understanding of the evolution of the product and a constant commitment to the Resort Guest whom ultimately decide our future.

For over 13 years David Brandstetter and WSE have been running a successful, safe partnership with Deerhurst Resort. It has become an important part of life for his family. Through the partnership thousands of guests have had memorable experiences. Many of them return year after year to be part of the Deerhurst/ WSE family.
